DCO to respond to a petition alleging that weapons licences were being issued in breach of regulations.
LAHORE:
The Lahore High Court on Friday summoned the district coordination officer (DCO) and the Mandi Bahauddin additional commissioner to respond to a petition alleging that weapons licences were being issued in breach of regulations. Petitioner Chaudhry Aslam Faiz submitted that he had written to the DCO informing him that arms licences were being issued without following rules and regulations, but no inquiry had been initiated.
He submitted that the large-scale issuance of licences could worsen the law and order situation. The court observed that it a matter of concern and directed the DCO and additional collector to appear on April 18 with their reports.
