LAHORE:

The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday dismissed an army officer’s appeal against a guardian court’s decision on child support payments, observing that the petitioner should have approached the Sessions Court or High Court as the apex court was not the right forum for such appeals.

Major Najeeb, the army officer, appealed against the guardian court’s order that he pay his ex-wife Rs24,000 each month for their two children on the grounds that he could not afford it. A two-member bench of the Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry dismissed his application, observing that the SC was not the proper forum for petitions against judgments of guardian courts.
