Deal With Ndma: UN to help build food storage facilities

WFP will enable NDMA to store around 30,000 metric tons of emergency stocks of food, non-food and medical supplies.

ISLAMABAD: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) have agreed to bolster the country’s response to future emergencies by the construction of state-of-the-art storage and training facilities at nine locations across Pakistan. Under the agreement, WFP will enhance the storage capacity of the NDMA, enabling them to preposition around 30,000 metric tons of emergency stocks of food, non-food and medical supplies.
