The MQM chief – whose party is a coalition partner of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) at the federal level and in the Sindh government – made the statement in a conversation with politician Sheikh Rasheed, chief of the Awami Muslim League on Thursday.
It is time, Hussain said, to make a ‘major decision’ with a heavy heart.
According to a statement issued by the MQM, he also called for an end to actions against the Baloch people and said that there was a need to listen to them and give them their rights. He added that while there was no harm in calling for an APC, it would be meaningless without any participation of Baloch leaders.
Hussain told Rasheed that he had been asking for an APC to be called on the issue of Balochistan and to solve the province’s problems for a while but no one had paid heed to him.
The AML chief agreed with Hussain’s stance and said that right now, solving the issues in Balochistan was of high importance. He also congratulated the MQM chief for holding a successful rally for women in Karachi.

@Khan: He is the leader of the third largest political party of Pakistan.
@Khan: That few Urdu speaking majority areas provides 25% of Pakistan GDP and 65 % of all tax revenue collected from entire Pakistan. It's you guys from all over pakistan u come to live in Karachi, abuse it's resources and doesn't give a dime in taxes. You loot and plunder innocent citizens of Karachi. You all are FREE RIDERS... especially ppl from Punjab, rural Sindh & KP!
Altaf is not only the leader of Urdu speaking community but he actually represents all ethnic groups of pakistan and he talks about 98 % poor population of Pakistan.
@Khan Atleast Baluchs repect and listen Altaf Hussain more than any other leader, as MQM has been raising concern over Baluchistan issue since 2006, MQM did rally for Dr Shazia Case as well.
@Khan: You reek of racism which is pathetic really He may be a leader of 'few' urdu speaking majority areas but his gave 'khans' like you (from outside) some opportunity to earn some bread through development work in the 'whole' of the city! Do keep that in mind plz
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: Sir, before we give the PM ship to a Baloch we have to give them provincial rights and get all armed forces out of Balochistan right away. They are not looking for a powerless (actual power rests with generals) post of PM of Pakistan but power in their own province. Gen Mush had a Baloch PM, what good has done that to the people of Balochistan? I do appreciate your sensitivity and proposal but that is asking too much from the real powers. Thanks and regards, Mirza
All political parties should unanimously decide that the next Prime Minister of Pakistan should be from Baluchistan, not a Sardar, but he should be among the political candidate who would have won the seat of National Assembly from Baluchistan.
And what would be that 'major decision' with a 'heavy heart'?
Major decision with a heavy heart? Why not get you back into Pakistan and sue you for the crimes you have committed/ perpetrated?
