LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday barred the Sheikh Zayed Medical College (SZMC) administration from charging Rs500,000 in annual fees from students. Justice Muhammad Khalid Mahmood Khan sought replies from the college chairman and both the federal and Punjab governments, by February 27, on a petition filed by Salman Kazmi. Kazmi, the Pakistan Medical Association joint secretary has contended that the SZMC is the only public sector institution which charges such high fees.
