Capacity building: ‘Australian police will support Punjab police’

Will assist law enforcement agencies in countering terrorism by using emerging technology and forensic capabilities.

Police Chief Marzio Da Re of the Australian Federal Police on Thursday assured Punjab police of full cooperation from the Australian police.


Da Re was meeting senior police officials at the police headquarters on Wednesday.

The Australian police chief said that the Australian police will extend its full support to Punjab Police in capacity building assistance and training programmes. He said that it will also assist Punjab Police as well as other law enforcement agencies in countering terrorism by using new and emerging technology and forensic capabilities. Additional Inspector General Chaudhry Tanvir Ahmed, Additional Inspector General (Training) Sarmed Saeed, Additional Inspector General (Special Branch) Nasir Khan Durrani, DIG (CTD) Javed Islam and DIG (Investigation) Mirza Shakeel attended the meeting.
