GILGIT: The woman killed in Gilgit on the pretext of honour on Monday was the mother of three children and belonged to a poor Gujar family in Naltar, sources said on Tuesday. Razia* was home when her brother-in-law Khayal Muhammad killed her. He suspected Razia of having an affair with 28-year-old Raz Gul. According to some sources, the woman was axed to death by the assailant, while others claim that he fired at her with a shotgun. The Gilgit police, however, refused to confirm how Razia was killed, saying that they were unable to comment on it as investigations were in the preliminary stages. We cannot comment on it at this stage though some arms have been recovered from the spot, the police said.  Muhammad tracked down Gul with the help of another relative and fired at him while he was having tea in a hotel.
