Being set a target of 238 runs off 50 overs. England got off to stuttering start, loosing captain Alastair Cook early on, before being cut to 68-3 in the 16th over. However, a solid century from Kevin Pietersen (130) ensured Pakistan will go home without a consolatory victory.
Earlier, Pakistan were bowled out for 237 in their allotted 50 overs in the fourth and final day-night international at Dubai Stadium here on Tuesday.
Asad Shafiq topscored with 65 while Azhar Ali (58) and Misbah-ul Haq (46) were the other contributors. For England paceman Jade Dernbach finished with 4-45.
Flu and injury-hit Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat in the fourth and final one-day against England at Dubai Stadium here on Tuesday.
Experienced batsman Younis Khan failed to recover after missing the third match on Saturday while opener Imran Farhat was left out with a groin injury sustained during the last match.
Paceman Junaid Khan, spinner Abdul Rehman and allrounder Shoaib Malik were included in place of Farhat, Umar Gul and Aizaz Cheema.
England, who have an unassailable 3-0 lead, were also forced to leave out Ravi Bopara (sore back), Graeme Swann (calf) and resting Stuart Broad and James Anderson.
Their places were taken by Jos Butler, Jade Dernbach, Tim Bresnan and Danny Briggs.

The only keeper I like after Moin and Rashid is Zulqarnain that the guy have guts to play in tough conditions.. As for the domestic performers i think Zohaib of Punjab team is a good prospect as he play well in the Pentangular competition correct me if i am wrong..
Pakistan will also lose big time in T20s also because they lack application of the Players on the right time. like Hammad i don't think Owais Zia will be given a chance.. As for Cheema he past his prime.
Umar Gul looks exhausted he should be given a rest.. We need to equip team will good new ball bowlers as the Old ball theory is totally out of the proportion..
Firstly it was naive of us to think that Pakistan previous few series were won because of any real performances by the batsman.It was just that the bowlers delivered every time because of a lot of factors ranging from weaker opponents, spinner supportive wickets and also the bowlers having form.
For me the best Odi team right now eyeing the future(world cup 2015) would be
Hafeez(if he doesn't perform play Ahmed Shehzad) Azhar ali(Will help to tame both new balls) Misbah(as he takes time at crease) shafiq(is very good against spinners) umer akmal(good against both spin and fast) afridi(played as regular spinner batting bounus) Hammad Azam(only logical replacement of Razzaq right now) Adnan Akmal(or anyone who is good with the gloves and can bat) Ajmal(king of Doosra) Gul(needs to find form if not replace with juniad khan) wahab(is brilliant at the end of the innings /can bat a bit)

Congrats to England they are the better equipped One day team... This is bound to happen to Pakistani Team. As the Domestic Performers didn't even get a chance in Playing elven or in the team like. Hammad Azam. Pakistan T20 squad should be totally different Players Like Sohail Tanvir, Abdur Razzaq, Imran Nazir, Rana Naved, Yasir Arafat, Ahmed Shehzad, Nasir Jamshed, and from the current team only Afridi, Saeed, Umar should be in that team..

Misbah has killed our fast bowling department never in my life have i seen a pakistani team playing with only one fast bowler.On what basis is that good for nothing shoaib malik is playing in this team.Will someone please throw imran farhat out of the team
the problem is the Pakistani team is too overrated by the Pakistani fans and media. Just because we won the test matches against England, does not means we are the best in the world! Pakistan team is nowhere a world class team,check out their performances against Afghanistan. Pakistan is not a team any more like it used to be before, when we had Wasim Akram,Waqar Younis and Aaqib Javed as fast bowlers; Mushtaq Ahmed and Saqlain Mushtaq as spinners; Aamir Sohail, Saeed Anwar and Inzamam as batsmen; Moin Khan as wicket keeper and Imran Khan as the captain!
@Malik: Great points! I hope some one takes notice. People like Malik have destroyed Pak cricket. When will be enough is enough!

Indecent selection deserve such result. Only two "Sifarashi" players spoiled the momentum. Kick out Farhat and Shoaib Malik, rest is fine. Poor Misbah was forced to include empty headed players and suffered badly.

Disciplined (professional) technique is what we require. Maybe my feeling is wrong but at least a partnership of 100 runs will give a good 'jump start' after which the other batsmen take on from there.
Secondly, a separate team for ODIs is now an emerging the scene.
Thirdly, Shuaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Wahab Riaz are erratic personalities. There must be neither hide nor hair of them.

It had to happen. Unless a team have spinners like Shane or Murli, you can not depend on them to win matches and specially one day. Yah we did very good in the test series but I can bet everything I have ( which is not a big bet to begin with) that if we were to play the same test series again the result would be entirly different. This is because teams like Australia and England, they think and do valuable analysis. Also as the great captain alway says real and true pacers are your assets. We need to find quality pacers and I mean real ones not like Asif and Rana Naveed...
Playing Malik or some other is not a cause of defeats. Fact of the matters is, our batting sucks big time.This was 280 pitch and we fell well below the desired score thanks to freckles batting by Umer Akmal who literally threw his wicket and Misbah couldn't accelerate against fast bowlers despite of facing last 10 overs. This fragile batting line up needs 2-3 quality batsmen else our team will remain as an average ODI side.
The issue is that we played adnan akmal as a wicketkeeper who has scored very very few runs with the bat. We need a wicketkeeper who can score runs. He is the weekest link in the team. Well done england

I like the way that first Pakistan's Cricket Team won the test series but lost against England in One Day series.
In any game, when one team win the match, the other team is bound to lose, therefore there should be no ill feelings.

So where is the best bowling side in the world? All the spinners were thrashed by the Englishmen. One kept waiting for the secret weapons of our spinners. Afridia who has bowled very well against weaker teams did not let his game do the talking. No leader or coach can help if the players do not perform.

As long as merit does not prevail and nepotism decides selection of team, Pakistan cricket has a bleak future. Can somebody explain why Shoaib Malik was selected and why Asad Shafiq was not given his due place in the first two ODIs. Misbah does not have drive, initiative or capacity to lead an offensive match winning team to win in an ODI,, nor does Mohsin Khan the capability to coach such a team. Time to boot Ilyas from Selection Committee and for PCB chairman to stand up to political interference such as the forced selection of Shoaib Malik.

We had enough of Shoaib Malik but he still sneak in without giving performance. Merit killing attitude of PCB should be scrutinized. Better recall Fawad Alam who has better average and attitude than Shoaib Malik. I think there is a lobby working to bring him as a captain again. The news is somewhere closer.
