The minister said that Musharraf has been declared a proclaimed offender in the case on the grounds that the VVIP security status entitled to Benazir Bhutto was deliberately denied. "We will issue a red notice and involve Interpol to bring back Musharraf to the country."
"The then CPO Abdul Aziz is also being held responsible for the deliberate destruction of evidences," he added.
The minister revealed that the same Taliban group which has been held responsible in the investigation report is also responsible for carrying out several other attacks on Benazir Bhutto in the past. "Wherever Mohtarma went for her rallies, the suspects left their remnants at those places where they tried to kill her. There was an element of the TTP [Tehreek-i-Taliban] everywhere. The main accused in the case not only planned but also conspired and executed the whole plan."
He also revealed that terrorist Saeed Bilal, with the help of Qari Ismail, carried out the suicide bomb on Benazir’s rally on October 18. “Before leaving for the attack, Saeed changed his clothes to merge into the gathering. The DNA samples retrieved from his body parts after the attack matched with the DNA samples collected from the clothes at his house.”
He pointed out that the investigations took a long time to complete as it usually takes time to collect circumstantial proof. “It is not just important to find out the implementers, but also see who planned the whole attack.”
The minister added that the case is in trial and 13 witness prosecutions had been done in the case.
Commending Benazir Bhutto’s courage, he said that many fake cases were initiated against the former prime minister but still she opted for reconciliation with the then president and decided to come to the country.
“In the presence of Mark Siegel, Musharraf threatened her: If you come to Pakistan before the elections, you will be responsible for the consequences. If you come to Pakistan before the elections, I will not be responsible for our security.
But she said: General, the decision to come to Pakistan is mine, not yours,” Malik said.
Chief Investigator of Benazir Bhutto murder case Khalid Qureshi revealed to the Sindh Assembly that Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud was responsible for the planning and execution of the attack on Benazir Bhutto.
He said that the people recruited to carry out the task were all trained in the Haqqania madrassa in South Waziristan.
“On December 20, in room no. 11 of Haqqania madrassa, Baitullah Maisood gave money to carry out the task.”
All the suspects of the attack were traced after the main accused Hasnain Gul one day mistakenly called his landline number in Rawalpindi. “All terrorists have strict instructions of not calling any landline number,” Qureshi said.
Musharraf dismisses warrant threat as 'blame game'
Former President Pervez Mushrraf, speaking to Express News on Tuesday said that he had passed on the intelligence reports of threats to Benazir Bhutto’s life.
He said that the former Pakistan Peoples Party stalwart had been warned that suicide bombers had reached the venue. “I had personally called Benazir Bhutto and told her that there exists a threat against her life,” the retired general said.
Calling it a blame game, Musharraf pointed out that those who were sitting inside the vehicle when assailants opened fire before blowing themselves up, remained safe. Bhutto had stood up through the sun roof of her armoured car to wave to gathered loyalists as her convoy exited the Benazir Bhutto Park (then Liaquat Ali Khan Park).
"She unfortunately was martyred, but those sitting inside the car are perfectly fine. If she had been sitting inside the car, she too would have been safe," Musharraf said.
He said that accusations against him of not providing security were ‘illogical’, and that since he was not in Pakistan, the government found him an easy target to deflect the blame away from them.
Musharraf recalled that the security for the rally in Rawalpindi had been taken over by PPP loyalists. Even the policemen on duty were PPP loyalists, he exclaimed.
Maulan Sami ul Haq denies allegations against Haqqania
Meanwhile Maulana Sami ul Haq, chief cleric of Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khatak has denied Malik's allegations against the seminary.
Talking to The Express Tribune, he said that not a single student from his seminary was involved in terrorist activities, “Several times I have asked the government and security officials that instead of levelling allegations against my madrassa students, take concrete step to prove them guilty. I offer my cooperation in this regard even now.”
The cleric also denied security officials’ claims that students of Haqqania were involved in targeting security installations, adding that his seminary followed a balanced and ‘peaceful’ curriculum, which was open to inspection by the authorities.
Haq demanded for an open trial of Benazir Bhutto’s murder.

@Pinky: The links you are referring too say nothing about Mr. Khalid Qureshi, except that he took a bold decision by adding the name of Mr. Musharaff in BB Murder case against the wishes of the government. Do'nt you think this is ridiculous?
This nation is like illetrate bickering women who will never be productive
It is strange to see the Balochs holding others responsible for their problems without lifting a finger on their own leaders like Nawab Bugti and the lot. These people were only sincere to the money that used to flow their way every year. From ealry 50s to ealry 80s, when Ziaul Haq split the distribution, Bugti's used to get in the ball park of Rs. 500 million (50 crores) every year, in cash and kind, in so called royalty. They did not spend a dime on their own people or the province. Mr Bugti throughout his life was supported by India, especially in his last few years all the problems in Pakistan were routed from Afghanistan, sponsored by India, exceuted by his army - and someone has the audacity to call him a patriot. People who live in glass houses don't throw stones at others....
Can Rehman Malik arrest even a retired Colonel?
Musharaff hanging by that ironically khaki coloured rope will be one pleasureable sight for scores of marginalized Balochs. The murderer of Benazir and Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti (two undeniably patriotic Pakistanis) must be brought to justice. It will help address to some extent the greviances of my province and also show the mighty establishment that they are not above the law defined by us 'bloody civilians'!
Joke of the Day!!
love MUSHARRAF
Rehman Malik was personally and directly responsible for Benazir's security ... so, he is much more directly responsible than Musharraf (who, it is claimed, is responsible because he was responsible as President, for the security of all Pakistanis) ...
... Rehman Malik should be held personally and directly responsible for this ...
Democracy succeeds all over the world with constant use of "attention diversion" tools every day to keep the "stupid citizens" fooled again and again. Democracy is nothing more than a method by which a small group of people keep their masses fooled, used, abused, controlled, guessing, hoping and hoping and hoping until the poor masses give up or die. It has worked. It is working perfectly in Pakistan as long as the 180 million think that they are dumb and their leaders know everything that is good for them and trust their leaders even though their leaders let them down every day again and again. It is a game that is working.
The present PPP government has lost its integrity and credibility. Its ministers give out false statements on regular basis, thinking it is easy to fool people. May I remind readers about the statement given by our honorable minister Mr. Naveed Qamar the other week saying that there will no load-shedding beginning next Tuesday. Can we trust these ministers, these leaders??
Looks like all the internal problems of Pakistan have been resolved to the satisfaction of the 180 million Pakistanis. All the crooks inside Pakistan are behind bars.
This government was unable to catch BB's murderers in four years , how will they do it in last year.....big joke
Dear Mr. Rehman Malik:
Don't say that you will bring Musharraf back to Pakistan, just bring him back to Pakistan by all means.
Your action should be more strong than your words.
waisay a challan (charge sheet) against a General?!(even a retired one) thats got to be a first!!! :D even Supreme court is merely inviting major-ranked army officers! ;p good to know that our police is not cowering before the army :) :)
Police Service of Pakistan,Paindabad!!
If musharaf is arrested balochs would apprecaite.
The PCO SC is missing from this whole issue just like Osama Bin Forgotten from Abbottabad Commission! While SC takes Suo Motu at the drop of a hat this is not important for them!
Rehman Malik, please try to bring back Aafia Siddiqui first before focusing on your party's collective Vendetta
as for the integrity of the officer in charge of the investigation, let there be no doubt that he is one of the most honest police officers around!!
Dawn, one of the most reliable newspapers of pakistan had this to say about him_"the incumbent head of the JIT — Khalid Qureshi, an independent-minded grade 20 officer of good reputation"
Jang, another major Urdu newspaper paid tribute to his moral uprightness in the following news item. http://jang.com.pk/jang/feb2011-daily/15-02-2011/main3.htm
guys, you can speculate about the involvement of zardari all you want but the fact is that not even a shred of evidence exists against him..NOT EVEN CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE...so you want the JIT to go ahead and arrest him, just because you dont like the guy??? yeah, because thats how law works...gut feelings, fantasies, allegations, speculations...
Cui bono?you say?,yes, after her death Zardari became president but that doesnt automatically make him the murderer....motives come in many forms, and BB was a leader with loads of enemies.
Jhoot just for the election
I wish Benazir had known this, her own murder investigation will become tool for winning election only. A lesson to learn for the leaders
Fairy tale! ... isn't it???
Nothing like a genuine JIT ... bunch of facts plugged-in to light up a story...
They think people of Pakistan are FOOL!
Malik sb please dont make us fool, if u wanted to it u could have done that before or you shouldn't have given him guard of honor at his departure.
Ha ha ha! . . . who is stoping them!
