Scrutiny Job: ECP to appoint new Revising Authorities

ECP expected to appoint more than 20,000 officials as Revising Authorities.

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is expected to appoint more than 20,000 officials as Revising Authorities (RAs) to scrutinise objections of voters regarding entries in draft electoral rolls. The RAs will be designated the task of verifying the entries and proposed corrections in the lists in addition to removing allegations filed by individual voters as well as the political parties. Giving details, the ECP sources informed that appointment of RA’s will be made after the electoral rolls are displayed at more than 50,000 centres across the country. National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is expected to complete the electoral rolls by the end of February and the same will be displayed at designated centres during first week of March.
