SIALKOT:
As many as 105 women were on Sunday awarded certificates of participation on completion of a three-month-long vocational training programme organised by jointly by Child and Social Development Organisation and Social Welfare Department. The programme was initiated with funds provided by the United Nations Children’s Fund under its Child and Adolescents Protection Project (CAPP). The programme was meant to impart skills that could be used by women to start their own enterprises and boost their family incomes. The award distribution ceremony was followed by a Children’s Mela at Government Allama Iqbal Boys High School Sialkot Cantonment. The event was attended by school and college students from all over the district. Students presented tableaus and skits at the event. A debates and painting competition was also held at the occasion. CSDO project manager Ijaz Ahmed and Social Welfare Department’s Director General Malik Muhammad Aslam, Director Abdul Quddus Akhtar and Deputy Director Irshad Waheed Government were present at the occasion.
