Chess: Lodhi held to a draw in 9th round

KARACHI: National champion Mehmood Lodhi was held to a draw by Iran’s Ghaziolsharif Kaveh in their ninth-round match at the Ferdowsi and Khyam International Chess Open held in Mashhad, Iran. The result allowed Lodhi to maintain his tournament ranking of 33, though he began the event ranked 14th. So far, Lodhi has won three matches, while drawing four and losing two in the 11-round tournament.
