The Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) has hired Sajid Kazmi, an Iranian coach, for a year to prepare the team for the South Asian Games (SAG) that will take place in December in India.
According to the PJF Secretary Masood Ahmed, Kazmi will join the team on March 1 before the training camp is held in Islamabad. “We have finally got a coach and we are aiming at four gold medals in the SAG,” Ahmed told The Express Tribune. “We could only afford someone from Iran in a budget of $1,500 per month.”
Ahmed said the PJF plans to hold alternative camps in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta and Peshawar during Kazmi’s tenure.
