The admissions forms will be accepted at medical institutions between August 8 and August 21. The entrance tests in Karachi will take place at the Dow Medical College, Sindh Medical College, Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan Oral Health Sciences college and the Expo Center Karachi on September 19, while students from across the province can take the test at the Liaquat University of Health Sciences Jamshoro and the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Univeristy.
Provincial Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed had demanded an addition of 10 per cent seats last year, after which the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council inspected different colleges and approved an addition of 15 per cent seats at Dow Medical College, Sindh Medical College and Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan Oral Health Sciences college. Dow Medical College can now cater to 350 students as opposed to 300. The Sindh Medical College can also cater to 350 students as opposed to 300 and the Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan Oral Health Sciences College can seat 100 students as opposed to 75 after the additions.
Meanwhile, the Liaquat University of Health Sciences has 350 seats, Peoples Medical College has 200 seats and Ghulam Mohammad Maher Medical College Sukkur has 100 seats reserved for new admissions.
