Concerns over Hafiz Saeed

Letter February 18, 2012
The government needs to clarify its stance on Hafiz Saeed and his seemingly free movement within the country.

ISLAMABAD: I think the US government’s concern regarding the presence of Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed in recent public rallies is fair and justified. According to the UN Security Council resolutions, the LeT stood accused of helping al Qaeda in carrying out acts of terrorism and of financing terrorist activities through its front organisation, the JuD. The government needs to clarify its stance on Hafiz Saeed and his seemingly free movement within the country.
