This is the only reason, Qureshi said, that within no time the PTI had become the voice of the people of Pakistan, while addressing a public meeting at Chak Amir Laleka, Bahawalnagar.
The ex-foreign minister of Pakistan, the first after yet another spell of military rule in the country, said that that now no one could dare to impose martial law in Pakistan. He added that the incumbent government, of which he was a part for the better part of three years, was but a guest for two more months.
Qureshi said that lawyers ran a successful movement for the supremacy of law and constitution in country, and now the PTI has been running a movement of change which the youth along with lawyers and farmers were leading.
He said that both ruling parties (PPP and PML (N)) had put the country on the verge of destruction and multiplied the misery for the people.
Politicians of today, he said, except those in the PTI were pursuing vested interests and had failed to deliver and that they should quit. The people, the PTI leader said, were buried alive under corruption, unemployment and inflation bred out of the inefficiency of present rulers.
Qureshi further said that PTI chairman Imran Khan would soon visit the far flung districts to give people the hope of change.
On this occasion, the former adviser to Chief Minister Mian Shoukat Ali Laleka announced his decision to join the PTI, while about 80 ex nazims, vice nazims ,ex Chairmen of TMA and several councillors also joined PTI.

@a.sidd
then who else is there 2 be given a chance! all the parties have been tried and tested (who can win the elections) and all have failed several times. I would rather take a chance to vote for PTI, rather than hoping good from those traditional corupt parties! why cant people understand this? how can people hope for any good from PPP or PML???
look at all these faces and you still feel they will bring change for good.
we can not give PTI a chance for change to worst, sorry
Give PTI a chance, I bet they can do a lot more good than others
Give PTI a chance, I bet they can do a lot more good than Nawaz
we are with PTI....
PTI running a movement for change: Shah Mehmood Qureshistrong text, yes for change. Party change and you have done that. Now you are all clean and disinfected all over again.
PTI is a gimmick and joke...only a fool would listen to them and a bigger fool buy what they say in the name of youth. Pls name one youth they have on there ranks as a leader, even there youth wing is run by odd 50yr old.
Shah mehmood qureshi took a just stance on rymend davis issue & resigned from his ministry. He joined a party that cant give him anything. PTI was in oposition. Nawaz Shareef formally invited him to join PML(n), but he did not. We appericiate SMQ just stance & corruption free past.
Right. Rally turnouts aren't evidence of such a thing and that's all there is. Rally turnouts are influential momentum that fades if not taken advantage of in time.
Are we getting our share of Mohtamir mohammad, who can change our life forever. I guess if we can install democratic government that is not corrupt, not vote corrupt parties. Take us as far from all this turmoil. Into prosperity that we have dreamt of then. It is close to mohtamir mohammad we can get. mohtamir mohammar was powerful man any nation could get. With todays times only dictator stay as much his time to make any nation into desert.
Someone need to think about this country, we have recently seen who think for themselves. unless we could go after these loonies their parties there is no chance. we are not going to get out of 911 post or corrupt system.
past government had financial help from war on terror, it should help our troubles. for pakistans troubles these leaders want their gain. Once we have inspect fallen parties corrupt practices, then the majority will learn not to vote for corrupt leaders. Imran will have to do alot of work to convince majority, maybe his work will last two three terms or four. He will leave rule of law that will change our future forever.
Let us be optimistic.
hey people voted for clintons & bushes, they did not vote for clinton this time, but changed history when they voted for obama.
the world need new leaders to replace osama obama bhushes clintons!
@Cautious: I think you should recheck your claim that S.M.Qureshi declared that R.Davis had diplomatic immunity.
@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: Your argument is completely immaterial at this point in time. Lets give PTI a chance first and then see for ourself whether they do bring a postive change in the country or not. But I think it would be foolish to not give them a chance on the assumption that it won't bring about any positive change. It would be a bit like a school banning one of its pupils from appearing in an exam because it thinks that the pupil will fail in the exam. In that case, what's the point of an exam. Let's just fail and pass candidates on the assumption of the school. The same anology can be applied here to PTI. Let PTI appear in the exam by coming into power first and then if they fail to deliver reject them in the next general election. But don't reject them before you've even tried them. That's foolish.
As far as I'm concerned, its an absolute no brainer. We have to give PTI a chance. Surely, they can't do any worse than the other two major parties. It would be some achivement if they do. If they deliver the goods, then brilliant. If not, then..well..nothing will have changed and we'll all get back to normal. But lets give them a chance first and see what they can do.
This coming from the former FM who conveniently forgets that he declared that Raymond Davis had diplomatic immunity - not much of a change master in my book.
er Thank you for pointing that out,Mr obvious ;p
To anyone criticising PTI - i am not much of a PTI supporter but what i know is that if good or bad PTI is going to be a third choice to judge. If you don't accept this PTI - not sure if with corrupt leadership or not - at least you have tried out someone new. If you don't vote for PTI are you going to vote for PMLN or PPP - knowing they never delivered??!! So - just for the sake of trying out someone new - i would vote for PTI. Do we have other options looking at our history??? What do we have to loose???
so true @ M Ali Siddiqui. People in power anywhere in the world will always want to maintain the status quo. To appeal to the masses people with influence need a puppet/figurehead (because real power is behind the scenes) who says what the public wants to hear. But regardless Pakistan should give PTI/IK a chance.
The biggest change that needs to be made is to get rid of policy of HATE with India. The next is reconciliation within Pakistan. It is stupid that after the loss of East Pakistan you have learnt nothing. Please treat Balochistan as an equal member of your family Any more bifurcation of Pakistan will be suicidal. Embrace your twin brother seperated at birth and stop wasting your resources fighting each other. Pakistan has the best manpower, make use of it to make Pakistan a peaceful and prosperous country. people had enough of corruption, get rid of it.
Give PTI a chance, I bet they can do a lot more good than Nawaz or Zardari
Alledgedly this guy demanded that many seats from Imran Khan, lets talk about vested interests. Imran Khan wants to 'change' what!! if he is implying to change culture of corruption then he is an idealist or gullible or both, here we have over 90% corrupt people, and I can not see it changing any time soon.
Give Imran a chance....what else can go wrong. So why not him. Give him a chance.
Whatever people say,Whether they say Imran khan is the king of U-Turn or they say He is a jew....Entire Nation will Vote for PTI....We are with you Imran Khan and PTI....INSHALLAH... PTI will make Next Government...
Reason why I clicked on this link is because i read "PTI going to CHANGE SMQ!"
nevermind...
Thanks for your statement, 'Mahmoud Kerry'.
"both ruling parties (PPP and PML (N)) had put the country on the verge of destruction and multiplied the misery for the people."
Is that why PTI is "poaching" the left overs from both these parties????
The slogan of 'change' for PTI is nice to attract the voters but I doubt that PTI once in power would be able to 'change' as there are too many old hawks are surrounding Imran Khan and would advice him not to 'change.
Though I personally like Imran Khan as he is a man of words, but doubt on other people who have a steady mindset which will not allow Imran Khan to 'change'.
