MARDAN: Five people were killed in Mardan when a passenger vehicle rammed into a car in the Takhtbhai district on Saturday, said the police.

A police official from the locality told The Express Tribune that the initial investigation showed that the cause of the accident was “over-speeding”.

There were two women and a child amongst those who were killed, he said.

The accident took place in the locality of Gujargarhi.

The speed of the vehicles can be guessed by the damage that both the vehicles sustained, the police official said. “The driver of the car died on the spot and both the vehicles are damaged beyond repair,” he added.
