US congressman Dana Rohrabacher introduced a bill on Friday in the House of Representatives asking the US government to bestow its highest civilian award on a Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA track down Osama bin Laden.
In a press release issued from his office on Tuesday, Congressman Rohrabacher, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation, said, “Dr Shakil Afridi’s acts to help the United States were extremely valiant and daring. All Americans owe him our most sincere gratitude for helping to execute the terrorist who murdered thousands of innocent Americans.
Rohrabacher, who also chaired a US congressional hearing on Balochistan last week, had previously introduced a bill in Congress seeking US citizenship for Dr Afridi.
The bill submitted to Congress, has been co-sponsored by nine congressmen, reads: “If convicted, Dr Afridi could be executed, and so his life continues to be in jeopardy on account of his work that helped further the interests of the US.”

If US was on right, why didn't it (as we still believe 9/11 was inside job) 1. put Osama on court trial (as he was un-armed) 2. show the body of Osama (we don't believe he was Osama)?
US is the biggest Terrorist of the world.
All good and merry, what I don't understand is that if I knew of a wanted terrorist hiding next door, how do I go about contacting CIA about that? Do CIA officials walk around knocking doors and making themselves known? Unless Dr. Afridi had always been chums with US agencies I don't see how he could have possibly got in contact with them .. which then brings me to the conclusion that this was a long and well thought out operation with ISI completely oblivious of their own backyard. Sad.
He cooperated with a foreign intelligence agency against his own country. The man deserves to be punished.
Good job, Congressman Rohrabacher! I fully support what you are doing. Dr. Afridi is a hero of freedom and humanity, and we Americans must honor him. I raised this point in my op-ed in an American newspaper a few months ago. here is the link:

In any other country Afridi would be considered a hero. Had he taken his information to the Pakistani authorities he would likely have ended up like Syed Saleem Shahzad and OBL would have been warned and escaped. Shame on Pakistan - why don't you spend some time finding the people who helped OBL rather than persecuting the one Pakistani who helped eliminate him.
Sentenced? Sentenced for what? For helping put a stop to the world's most evil terrorist? He obviously knew our cretinous "establishment" was somehow involved in protecting the guy, so went to the right people who would rid us of him.
Shakeel Afridi should be sentenced immediatly and US u put ur own house in order first,
