Nasir Jamshed’s brilliant 47-ball 81 fired the Chittagong Kings to an emphatic eight-wicket win over the Barisal Burners in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Chasing a modest 126 for victory, the Pakistan opener combined with Jahurul Islam (41) to put on 97 for the first wicket. Jamshed’s superb knock included 10 boundaries and two sixes. Earlier, a disciplined bowling performance from Chittagong restricted the Burners to 125 for six. Chris Gayle (30) and Brad Hodge, who top-scored with 38, were the major contributors.

Elsewhere, Imran Nazir’s 54 was not enough to overhaul Duronto Rajshahi’s 144 for nine, as Dhaka lost by 14 runs.

Nazir hit five boundaries and a six but found little support from the other end as Dhaka finished on 130 for seven. Mohammad Sami finished with three wickets. Marlon Samuels’ 36 had earlier helped Rajshahi post a reasonable total.
