Target Killings: Prayer leader, MQM man killed in Karachi

Deceased was associated with the party’s unit 131 and an employee of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.

KARACHI: A shia prayer leader and a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement were killed in separate acts of violence on Wednesday. Maulana Sadaqat Hussain, 30, was gunned down near his home in Liaquatabad by two armed men on a motorcycle, police officials said. They said that the victim was the prayer leader at the Masjid-e-Masoomin. His body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Separately, the body of an MQM worker was found in Altaf Nagar within the limits of the Manghopir police station. Abdul Hafeez, 35, had several torture marks on his trussed-up body, police officials said. They added that the deceased was associated with the party’s unit 131 and an employee of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.
