QUETTA: Employees of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) went on strike in Balochistan on Wednesday, seeking regularisation of their service. NADRA employees staged a demonstration outside the NADRA headquarters in Quetta. Their work includes preparing NICs, weapons licences, Afghan refugee projects and the Benazir Income Support Programme. “We have closed all NADRA offices in Balochistan and they will remain closed, if our demands are not met,” the workers said. Protestors said the prime minister had announced that NADRA employees will be regularised and a notification was also issued in this connection, but they failed to implement the notification.
