Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that he regrets Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani being indicted for contempt of court in the NRO case.
A statement issued by the party quoted Altaf as saying, “I am very disappointed at what has happened today.”
The MQM leader also stressed that state institutions must respect each other’s constitutional ambit and avoid confrontation at all costs.
Altaf also advised the government to ‘show deference to the court proceedings’ by being patient and avoiding any hasty reaction which might prove detrimental to democracy in the country.

@Uza Syed: I’m also very happy like millions others over here in Pakistan. See? Its easy to make up fictitious statements.
Me, too! I'm also very disappointed like millions others over here in Pakistan. And, yes, any thinking person, who cares about separation of power and a built-in system of check and balances is seriously apprehensive of this interference and encroachment of one branch of the government on the jurisdiction of other branch.
very smart staement, bec MQM/ altaf has also same concern over our Judiciary like PPP.
OK boss.
Confusing statement. In whose favour he is talking about? OR he is following 'a news statement a day' policy to show his (virtual) presence in Pakistani politics. We desperately need such politician who speaks for truth and condemn any illegitimate or immoral act.
