Sexual assault: Police official, accomplices arrested

HARIPUR: A police constable and his accomplices allegedly assaulted a young man in Malikyar village on Monday. Police quoted Muhammad Ahsan, 20, as saying that he was on his way to the market when Naveed Khan, a police constable and his two accomplices, Iftikhar and Sarfraz, forcibly dragged him inside a house. When he tried to put up resistance, they beat him with kicks and fists. He said they assaulted him turn by turn. The complainant was later referred to District Headquarters Hospital for a medical examination, where doctors confirmed he had been assaulted. The police have registered a criminal case and arrested all the persons nominated by him.
