The roots of terrorism in GB dated back to 1988, when over 100,000 militants backed attacked the area and killed 111 people, bured to ashes 15 villages, 15 mosques, over 1000 copies of Holly Quran. The people of the area were unable to protect their land and Mosques due to fact that the people of the area never kept weapons and ill designs. The Government has so far not been able to punish those who were responsible. I wonder, if the Govt. can respond to single incidents of this nature. The topical make ups will not work unless the flow of weapons, terrorist and training equipment and literature is not stoped with iron hand.
The recent attempt on JUI office bearer in Gilgit is obviously engineered and planned by the miscreants who are backed by certain unknown forces who do not want to see peace in the region. The attempt is highly condemnable and is a continuation of the previous target killings, specially when it calms for a month longer each time. Local administration must probe meticulously in to the situation that whenever peace prevails temporarily, who breach the law.
