HYDERABAD: The health department sealed a maternity hospital run by a fraud, and two medical stores operating without a licence in a raid conducted on Thursday. The department inspected the Zubaida Maternity Home on a complaint by Dr Shahzeb Shah. The health officer Dr Altaf Khehro told The Express Tribune that Zubaida, who ran the maternity, claimed to be a lady health visitor but had no legitimate certificates. Two shops selling expired and stolen government medicines were also sealed. Khehro said that the medicines have been sent to Karachi for laboratory tests and if they are found injurious to health, action will be taken against the shopkeepers.
