Football: We can score from anywhere, says Kalou

The Elephants notched up their fifth successive win with a 1-0 semi-final defeat of Mali.

LIBREVILLE:
An impregnable defence coupled with forwards who could strike at will were the cornerstones of Ivory Coast’s march to Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final, according to Salomon Kalou. The Elephants notched up their fifth successive win with a 1-0 semi-final defeat of Mali courtesy a brilliant solo effort by Arsenal striker Gervinho. With Zambia waiting in the climax after their win over Ghana with an identical score-line, Chelsea star Kalou remained confident of his team’s chances. “Our goals can come from anywhere,” said Kalou. “We can score at any moment and that’s an advantage that we have on lots of other teams at this Nations Cup.”
