Football: Balochistan post win in U14 event

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan defeated Gilgit-Baltistan 2-0 in their National Under-14 Football Championship match held at the Jinnah Football Stadium, Islamabad. Mirwais scored the opener on 10 minutes and Hammad put the result beyond doubt with a goal in the 60th. In the second match, Nowshera Zone edged out Lahore Zone 2-1. Muhammad Waseem gave Nowshera Zone the lead in the opening minute, while Muhammad Umair scored the team’s second goal on 40 minutes. Qadeer Khan reduced the deficit with a 53rd-minute goal but Lahore Zone failed to find an equaliser. Meanwhile, Chaman Zone and Karachi Zone played out a goal-less draw.
