Murder: Madrassa teacher shot dead in Bhara Kahu

Resident of Mansehra who was in his 40’s, used to teach at Darul Aloom Islamia in the Satra Meel.

A teacher at a local seminary was shot dead by two unidentified boys in Nen Sukh Mohallah in the Bhara Kahu area, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.


Maulana Muhammad Riaz, a resident of Mansehra who was in his 40’s, used to teach at Darul Aloom Islamia in the Satra Meel, (17 mile) suburb of Islamabad.

He went to the Shamsur Rehman’s house in Nen Sukh Mohallah, but before he reached his destination, two armed boys began chasing him.

When he tried to run away the boys opened fire at him, shooting him in his leg and his head.

He died on the spot and was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for a postmortem.

The police said that they have started searching for the killers, who had managed to escape, and further investigations are underway.

The body will be handed over the to the family after the medico legal procedures, said an official from the hospital.
