Scorecard: Police bust 14 criminal gangs

Stolen goods worth Rs12.24 million were recovered from those arrested.

FAISALABAD: The police claimed to have arrested 54 men of 14 gangs in January. In a statement released on Tuesday, police said that stolen goods worth Rs12.24 million were recovered from those arrested.

These include stolen cars, motorcycles, jewellery, mobile phones, cattle, weapons. Amir Waheed, a Police Department spokesman, said on Tuesday that 351 drug dealers were also arrested during this time. He said that 11 men were arrested for being drunk and 201 gamblers with Rs235,000 bet money were also nabbed. During this period, 198 court absconders and 778 proclaimed offenders were also arrested, he added.
