Scrabble: Khatri defends ranking title

Waseem Khatri successfully defended his title at the sixth Ranking Scrabble Tournament.

KARACHI: Waseem Khatri successfully defended his title at the sixth Ranking Scrabble Tournament that took place at the Beach Luxury Hotel on Sunday. The national champion won seven matches with a spread of 621, outplaying Tariq Pervez, who also won seven matches but lost to Khatri with a three-point spread-deficit of 619. Meanwhile, Inayatullah finished third after winning six matches. Earlier, the tournament also witnessed a huge upset when 14-year-old Moizullah Baig got the better of the experienced Khatri.
