The militants detonated a bomb near a military vehicle and then opened fire at the convoy, in the Shahedano Dhand area, confirmed the officials. The vehicle was almost destroyed as a result of the fire.
Earlier on Friday, seven security personnel and 18 militants were killed in an attack in the Shaheedano Dhand area of lower Kurram Agency. The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have claimed responsibility for the attack.
The area is a rugged mountainous terrain, where security officials have been trying to block the route used by militants to move from one tribal area to another.
The heights of Kurram are of strategic importance because of their natural connectivity from Tirah valley of Khyber to North Waziristan.

Dear Akhtar and Roflcopter,
We cannot continue to shy away from the obvious and must admit that the threat of terrorism is still prevalent in the region. These terrorists continue to inflict considerable damage upon the region in their bid to gain control and overthrow the government. The repeated attacks on both sides of the border are sound proof of their intransigence. Our failure to acknowledge the obvious will only result in more chaos and mayhem. Therefore, the responsibility for improving coordination and communication for the sake of achieving our common objectives rests with us. The repercussions associated with their dark and evil agenda affect both of our nations. And allowing ourselves to indulge in the blame game is detrimental to our success. We need to remind ourselves that both nations have suffered a lot at the hands of terrorism, and it’s our common desire to defeat terrorism that keeps us working together. We condemn terrorism in its strongest form, and wish to see a safe and stable Pakistan for the sake of the region. We will continue to support Pakistan in its fight against the militants, and look forward to addressing issues that could help us create a better working relationship for the future.
This is where we need Imran Khan. He is an honest man and I hope he will be favourably heard by all. He should start his active political career by bring peace to his people. This is where he will earn his right to lead Pakistan.
If Karzai wants our help with Taliban he must make sure support of militants fighting against Pakistan is cut from Afghan side.
Pak Army Zindabad
Until the troops are withdrawn, this kind of daily news will continue! More Muslims are killed in Pakistan than any where in the world. Infact, much more than Iraq in the past 2 years.
Ooo God! Help my Soldiers in finishing these barbarians who are fooling people in the name of Islam and playing in the hands of enemies and trying to destroy Pakistan.
