War of mindsets: Militants target school in DI Khan

School’s watchman got trapped under the debris but was later rescued by the local people.

PESHAWAR: Militants blew up Government Girls Primary School in Kotla Saeedan, Dera Ismail Khan with explosives, police officials revealed on Friday.

Militants planted explosive material on the premises of the school in the night between Thursday and Friday. The resulting blast damaged four rooms of the facility as well as the boundary wall of the school. The school’s watchman got trapped under the debris but was later rescued by the local people.

Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to catch those responsible for the attack.

I believe these militants don’t have a solid reason why girls can’t have equal opportunities of education. Islam allows both girls and boys to get educated. They use explosives and IEDs to destroy schools, because people don’t endorse their beliefs and this way they prove that they are powerful.
