One dead, three injured in Khyber Agency blast

The road side bomb blast also damaged a house and mosque adjacent to the site.

PESHAWAR: One person was killed and three others injured on Friday in the Teerah Valley area of Khyber Agency when a road side bomb exploded, damaging a house and mosque adjacent to the site.

The explosion took place near a house that belonged to Khan Muhammad, said locals from the area.

Sources said that one person was killed and three others were injured while the mosque was seriously damaged.

The incident took place in the Bazar Zakakhel area, where clashes between militant groups and the peace committee have killed several people.

The names of those killed and injured could not be ascertained due to communication problems.

The areas of sub-division Bara have been under curfew for the past three years, with security forces trying to clear up the area.

Law enforcement agencies need to enforce writ of the government in these areas. No one is above law. Militants can’t kill people indiscriminately. Most importantly, there should be a mechanism that inhibits the spread of materials that can be used to make homemade bombs or IEDs.
