Robbery: Two passersby injured in firing

Two passersby suffered gunshot wounds on Thursday as a group of traders opened fire on suspected robbers.

ISLAMABAD: Two passersby suffered gunshot wounds on Thursday as a group of traders opened fire on suspected robbers. The robbers, who allegedly snatched cell phones from a shop in the market, managed to get away unharmed. The traders told the police that some unidentified men entered a shop and snatched cell phones from the salesperson at gunpoint. Some traders who had weapons on them started shooting at them as they escaped. Two passersby, Masood Satti and Habibullah, were injured in the firing. They were taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where their condition is said to be stable. Police said they had taken people from the scene into custody to determine who opened fire and under what circumstances.
