Dr Abdul Rab Sangi, a doctor who was kidnapped nearly three months ago from Larkana, and his driver were found in a police raid near Garhi Yasin on Wednesday, said the Golo Daro police.

The authorities claim that they had received a tip off about some hostages being kept in the katcha area. They said that the suspects were in the forest and started shooting at them when they cordoned off the hideout. After two hours of firing, the police managed to arrest three suspects.

Larkana SSP Aitizaz Goraya refused to disclose details about the suspects or doctor. He said that the doctor’s family would give the media the information.

He added that one of the most wanted criminals, Inam Brohi, was involved in the kidnapping. When contacted, Sangi could not say much as he was in a state of shock.

Sources in Garhi Yasin said that there was no police raid or encounter with the suspects. They claim that the suspects had asked for two million rupees in ransom.
