MUMBAI:

All’s well that ends well. Shahrukh Khan and Shirish Kunder called truce on Tuesday, a day after they were embroiled in a scuffle at a party. Kunder said their friendship has become stronger than ever now.

“Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan were the mediators and had arranged a meeting. Whatever issues we had, we kept before each other and the misunderstanding has been solved,” said Kunder after the patch-up.

Kunder, along with his wife Farah Khan, brother-in-law Sajid Khan, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and Shahrukh’s wife Gauri Khan had arranged the meeting at Shahrukh’s house. “It was a mutual thing and was not about saying sorry to each other. Since I am younger, I can’t expect Shahrukh to say sorry. We kept our egos aside and were gracious enough about it. Being the younger one, I shouldn’t have reacted like this. Our relationship has become stronger like never before,” Kunder stated.

Speaking about the media coverage the tussle received, Sajid Khan said: “Shahrukh and Shirish had a fight, agreed. But the media didn’t have to play it up to the point of making it on the front of national newspapers.” He added: “Do you know, when my sister Farah and Shirish got married, there were only three witnesses. Me, Sajid Nadiadwala and Shahrukh; we’re family. And there’re bound to be differences between family members.

Farah is also happy that things are sorted out. “With all kind of different rumours and stories, it was just too much of negativity to handle,” said Farah. She said this is not only the end of the ugly spat, but also a new beginning for her and Shahrukh. “I really liked what he said. He made us promise to wipe out all the bitterness of the last two years and start afresh. I feel like a big burden is off my back,” she said.

Shahrukh mum over patch up

Meanwhile, Shahrukh has refused to comment on either the fight or the patch up. “Did I tell you that there was a fight? No, right, so I will not tell anything about the patch up also,” Shahrukh told reporters. However, he took to Twitter to talk about his exciting day, revealing the best part was to meet friends at home. “Long satisfying day, dancing at Filmfare, dinner with Riteish and Genelia at 5 am. Best was to meet friends at home again,” he tweeted.

@Aisha: Not jst that. Other examples of well known Muslim women marrying Hindu men: - 1) Nargis married Sunil dutt, 2) Madhubala married Kishore Kumar 3) Suzanne Khan (Sanjay Khan's daughter) married Hrithik Roshan 4) Salman Khan's sister married Atul Agnihotri

Examples of Hindu women marrying Muslim men 1) Sharmila Tagore married Pataudi 2) Gauri married Shah Rukh Khan 3) Kiran Rao married Amir Khan 4) Salman Khan's mother was a Hindu who converted to Islam to marry his father Salim Khan

Just today actor riteish Deshmukh (Hindu) married Genelia D'souza (Christian).

While individual families may approve/disapprove, society at large does not creat problem in interfaith marriages in India.
