The package, Autonomous Trade Preferences - approved by the CTG of the World Trade Organization (WTO) at its meeting in Geneva, will enter into force after its formal approval by the WTO General Council in March this year.
The EU Trade Package will help Pakistan deal with economic losses caused by the unprecedented floods in Pakistan in 2010. It would help increase Pakistan exports to EU countries and generate thousands of jobs in Pakistan.
A statement issued by the Foreign Office said Pakistan was grateful to WTO member countries for their support.
"The Government of Pakistan particularly appreciates the European Union and its member states for their commitment to help Pakistan revive and stabilize its economy through trade."

The person who drew up this list should be SHOT! It does not include any value added Home Textiles which have a GREAT demand in the EU market!
Its time for the PPP to step out and PTI to step in!
God have mercy on this country and help the poor!
I am trying to find a list of items approved for this trade, does anyone have source to this list?
this is useless, the items allowed are less demand in European market, they have not allowed the items which help to boost our export, really after passing of 15 month we got lolly pop and nothing
@Ravez Junejo: No wonder Pakistan is so prosperous and developed ... all credit goes to PPP & PML (!) There has been no achievements for Pakistan in recent decades at least .. We used to rely on other countries for materials and now we rely even for electricity and food and almost every thing. If for once PPP govt is sincere they will stop pouring money in to PIA & Railways and privatize it immediately, will apply single curriculum throughout the country and expel millions of refugees while closing Western border competely except for trade. Alas, they have not been able to build a dam in almost 5 years despite chronic power shortages in the country .. let alone expecting any thing else from PPP & PML govts. Time to kick out tested players of politics (not parties).
Another victory of the foreign and trade policy of the PPP government! This is the difference between our party and the others. We make achievements possible!
