KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) central information secretary Shafqat Mehmood has issued a statement on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) chief Fazlur Rehman’s allegations against the PTI.

The statement claims that PTI’s popularity “has unnerved many but none more so than the chameleon of Pakistani politics Maulana Fazalur Rehman.”

Mehmood has accused Rehman of “crossing all  limits of political decency” by accusing the PTI of being supported by the establishment, CIA and the Jewish lobby.

Mehmood also notes that people like Rehman have “forgotten their  own past record” including the JUI-F allegedly asking then-US ambassador to help him become prime minister or his support of former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf. The PTI statement reads: “Due to these services to the establishment he got allotted large tracts of land to himself and his family in Dera Ismail Khan. So, who has a history of supporting the establishment? Maulana Fazalur Rehman or Imran Khan?”

PTI has asked Rehman to look at his own deeds before accusing others.

Instead of defending your party and giving proper line that you are neither backed up by internal nor external Establishment. You reply FR with counter accusation. This counter accusation is not productive, because questions raised by FR are actually in the mind of every sane Pakistani. Pls reply and prove it through your actions. We need change but not a pseudo change under the umbrella of Establishment.

Nicely replied by PTI, putting light on all of the right points about our dear “Maulana”. His hypocrisy is well known to all and sundry. A bit of wikileaks and a simple youtube video on Ansar Abbasi’s report on land allotment to the Maulana is enough to expose that.

    @ Mehran:

Buddy first thing first, PTI and IK have repeatedly said that they are not supported by ISI or CIA or USA..wikileaks confirmed.

Second: FR is putting jewish lobby accusation because Goldsmith is a Jew..Go to wikipedia.com and search Goldsmith. You will know. The status quo made this propoganda against IK.

Third: PTI has put an accusation on FR history based on facts we have seen and read. A person with a questionable history and status quo mindset giving statements without authentications

We the youth of Pakistan are sick & tired of status quo and we need an intelligent government. If you want to study engineering for 4 years and drive a yellow taxi or stay home and be paid by Benazir income support, be Status quo guest…but the rest we are not bhyr bakry..we make these government and IA we shall form ours.

Why is EVERYBODY mad at PTI (and with so much coherence)? PTI isn’t even in the Assembly; Never been in the Government. Even then PPP, PMLN, JUI, MQM, ANP and PMLQ criticize it as if all problems of Pakistan over the past 65 years are due to PTI…. Astonishing…

    @Tehreek-e-Insaf FATA:
PTI isn’t in the assembly; not even a 0.001% of popular vote.. but still they want an elected Prime Minister to be out of his office; a president with 2/3rd majority to go away. They label allegations on everyone, but unfortunately PTI has no experience in running of even a Union-Council office.

Change in stand is essential for survival of every party in Politics and same is very much in practice of both PTI, JUI and even others too, so, such sort of blame game is no more than Political sledging which can niether fill belly of a common citizen nor can provide it security.

@Kashif Iqbal- I should send you a gift basket for such an “intellectual response”. When Benazir become PM first time, she had ZERO experience, not even at union-council level. When Zardari become “Commander-in-thief”, he had years of experience. And the result?
Bankrupt and lawless Pakistan, where criminal becomes ministers and appointed heads of national organizations. Go ahead support them and apply for Canadian citizenship.

@Mehran- Prove your action? every political party is in power, one way or the other and YOU want actions from PTI? if this is your understanding of politics, by asking accountability from a party that has nothing to do with govt actions. policies and practice, then I must say “God save us”. FR, along with his fat-cats are HISTORY and next elections will prove it. Recommend

Please pray that PTI supporters, including me, stay away from the “revolutionary thoughts” because bloodshed for change is not in any ones interest (It would certainly be our last resort).I want a peaceful change and it is only possible if every Pakistani realizes that there is something wrong and fishy going on and some one (read all politicians in power) are responsible for it. If my people (read people of Pakistan) are suffering, you can not expect me to say good words for the responsible ones. and to be very honest it is now a fight between the good (PTI), the bad (Status quo) and the ugly Recommend

    To Mehran,
As per you “questions raised by FR” then please answer that has FR raised the questions against Imran Kahn with prof? If not then this is the BOHTAN on IK.

Inshallah IK will prove with action the positive CHANGE in Pakistan and for Pakistani if got chance to prove.

    Allah know better!!!

@Kashif Iqbal: How many union councils had zardari run before becoming president? Wether PTI has any representation in the assembly or not it belongs to Pakistan and has every right to ask the resignation of government over their corruptions, failures, price hike, lawlessness and making our lives miserable.

    @ Mehran. Agreed with you.
I believe PTI should let Shirin Mazari deal with all the accusations in future. The lady got a firm yet graceful method of clarifying issues.
