Desert drive: Cholistan jeep rally preparations

Around 100,000 visitors are expected, hence there has been special focus on strict security measures

BAHALWALPUR: A meeting was held to finalise arrangements for the Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally starting Cholistan from February 16, 2012. According to police officials, Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) managing director Saad Khan and MNA Chaudhry Saud Majeed stated that all arrangements had been finalised in this regard and 23 official departments including the Pakistan Army, Desert Rangers, Police, local administration, Health Department and others had been contacted for their cooperation during the event.  “We expect around 100,000 visitors, so there has been special focus on strict security measures,” he said.
