Jamaat-e-Islami chief Munawar Hassan said on Sunday that any resolution submitted in parliament favouring restoration of US Nato supply routes would be a step against Pakistan.
He was speaking in Multan at the Difa-e-Pakistan conference.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami chief Maulana Samiul Haq also addressed the people gathered for the conference. Haq told them that if “US, Israel, India or Nato forces” attack Pakistan’s border, they will retaliate against them with "full force".
Chief of Ahle Sunnat wal Jamaat (ASWJ), Ahmed Ludhianvi while speaking at the conference threatened that if government decides to restore Nato supply routes, his party workers would block the route themselves.
The supply route was suspended by Pakistan after November 26, 2011 Nato air strikes that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers and took Pakistan’s fragile alliance with the US to new lows.

Oh well. I can't remember the last time the US has done anything they haven't made a scene over. The US hasn't cared in the past, it won't in the future. Besides, they're viewed as primary instigators to the very reason for the US presence to begin with. Not to mention Muslims hate everyone but themselves and any action in favor of a non-Muslim. No surprise and definitely not news internationally. It's a given.
Gilani and Zardari have already committed treason. They have no authority to rule. SC will exile and imprison them,
If army is also playing dirty games, then army needs to step down too
Imran Khan will stand against all traitors
Pakia should send these Gentlemen on a state sponsored ONE WAY trip for Hajj (requesting the government there to keep them there). . At the most fundamental level Pakia need the USA. Intransigence in blocking the supplies is not going to PAY dividends in this stage of the game. At the beginning Pakia had the right not to cooperate; now that the other nations DEPENDS on Pakia, it would be treacherous to stop the flow of supplies now. As a much, much weaker country, and a poorer country, it has to ATRICULATE its national interests in an OPEN and FRIENDLY way when dealing with the USA. The Paki national interest includes: 1. Politically: Creation of the United Islamic Republics (Afgania, Pakia, and Tajikia) 2. Economic: Development Aid As the three countries have been plagued by Pseudo-Islamic Fanatics, and Dishonest Politicians, American Aid should be to support specific Projects undertaken in these countries by the local people, but the ACCOUNTING remaining in America hands (not Local Agents appointed by the USA).
The biggest development needs of these countries are: 1. Railways linking Tajikia via Afghania to Pakia. This could be done in phases, the first of which would be to link Peshawar with Kabul, and Khandhar with Quetta 2. Water Husbandry Projects (Irrigation, Hydro, Flood Prevention, Recreation) 3. Power Generation Projects (Hydro, Wind, Solar, Thar Coal) 4. Crop yield increment projects; crop variety increment projects. 5. Education (Schools, Universities and research institutes for advance project areas) And of course the setting up of relevant industrial infrastructure to support continued development needs.
There are no clear answers as to which Party one should vote. IK is basically a good man, still has lot of principles and less baggage to carry but very little experience and could be easily controlled. Zardari's political skills are unmatched. Forget Gilani. He is just a front. It is said "A known Devil is Better Than The Unknown Angel". The real answer should lie in your judgement as to how far you expect the Devil to change for the better and the Angel to turn the other way and how much of this change has already happened by the election day. Above all, Pakistani's should vote for the Party that can bring prosperity to the common Pakistani, which in turn shall bring peace. Although many say peace brings prosperity I think it could be the other way around also. When everyone has a job and shelter and is not worried about his next meal, he shall not have time to think on destructive things and would rather enjoy his life as much as possible.
@Tehreek-e-Insaf FATA: These guys look like sitting ducks for a drone. If USA decides, it can sell these fellows for organ donation.
@Colonel: Thanks Bro.
Just a bunch of hypocrites. During day time they abuse US and in night count their dollars and dream about sending their children to be there for good. Your great Khans children are studying in UK.I pity them.
@Mehran: why US is briebing Religouse Parties and so called religiouse people for her own interests at the cost of pakistani people. untle US is here in this region terriorism/Qatal o gharat will continue.
Pakistan is 'sliding into anarchy with multiple power centers and pointing to a decline of establishment’s influence and rise of fundamentalist elements.
@Raj - USA: We are not ANSWERABLE to any USA-Raj... PERIOD.
We are with Jumait Islami and other religious parties alliance....
@qi: Please refer to RAJ-USA comment , we are on the same page
@colonel i have observed ur comments in other articles. u seem to have a passion to differ with pti on everything i am not here to defend pti...but we should acknowledge what is right I myself have seen latest interviews of imran khan where he vehemently denounces drone attacks and resumption of nato supply line Every party in pakistan has certain good things and bad things about them let us debate in a proper manner ...not by agreeing or disagreeing blindly..
We as the nation strongly agree and are with the JI and other religious parties alliance (Diffa e Pakistan Movement) in their right stance that if NATO supplies were restored there would be grand agitation against the government continuous pro-american policies. Let us be united on this issue at least to save the sovereignty of Pakistan.
@qi: We are not dragging any particular political party, it's Tehreek-Insaf FATA, he always do the same on every news articles
@qi: I m not a military personal, If u differ with my opinion support ur thoughts with valid arguments
But Now PTI has different agenda PTI seems to be on different page on the issue of NATO Supplies... It has no clear stance now on joining Diffa e Pakistan Movement... All other parties serve their own interests and strongly hold the openion that People of Pakistan are easy to be befooled.
Why do ppl have to get pti into everything..... This article doesnt even mention pti @colonel please no advices from a colonel regarding politics pls..we have had enough and if a colonel dislikes pti maybe establishment does aswell....
@Raj - USA: well said bro
The drama of US war on terror and supply to NATO troops through Pakistan route has already been halted and should not be reopened again.
People of Pakistan will not allow the government to play any more with the lives of innocent Pakistan after 4,00,000 innocent people have died after General Pervez Musharraf gave a green signal to former US President George W. Bush.
General Musharraf is a murderer of 4,00,000 innocent Pakistani people + the politicians and journalists.
The sitting government should ask the concerned quarters that Interpol should be asked to arrest him and handover to the Government of Pakistan, so that he should be tried in the court of law for crime against humanity.
Atleast they showed courage. However, being mullahs they cannot get any welcome response even for their good work from the ultra-modern segment of our society, who are truely called "Enemy within".
@Tehreek-e-Insaf FATA: "It was none other than PTI who blocked the NATO Supplies 3 times last year for Several Days by staging Sit-ins at Supply Routes in PESHAWAR, KARACHI, QUETTA."
That was then when PTI was not so popular and it needed to do something to become popular. Haven't you not seen photographs of Imran Khan with beard for a short period those days?
Now that PTI has become popular with the blessings of the Establishment, its has reached the 2nd state, i.e., to win the elections, which it cannot do it it keeps to the old stand. This phase is the quiet phase where it will be quiet on extremist views. They know that if the win the elections, they cannot run the country with extremist views and so keep a wait and watch attitude.
The 3rd phase is when the party actually wins the elections and forms the government. At that time there will be a complete "U" turn as they then have to actually run the country and they cannot do it if they make enemy of the rest of the word.
Haven't you not seen this happen over and over again. Take for example any period when the country was under the Army rule. USA had the best relations with Pakistan under any Army rule rather than when Pakistan had a civilian government. Then the Army chiefs become too confident and start to think that they can get away with anything. They then start to double cross. This brings them their fall.
BTW, I like this photograph very much. It shows the dark beards in the back and the white beards in the front. Shows how things age over a period. Even the front row has half grey and half white beard in the extreme left that turns to full white as it moves further to the right. Also shows that Difa-E-Pakistan is the senior-most amongst these great revolutionaries !!! Does it have a hidden meaning ? I don't know and also cannot read Urdu. So cannot read or understand what is written in the banner in the background. ET: YOU ARE SO CREATIVE !!!!!
@Mehran: Not proven against Sunni tehreek, and ST asked to apologize if not then threatened to take legal action, whats the credibility of PPP? R u trying to say PPP was/is a savior of Nation????
@Colonel: Watch Imran Khan's Interviews to CNN etc in the Last Week. You will get your ANSWER.
Imran khan & religious groups/parties have same agenda! Both are against drones & both are against NATO supplies! Both favor militant groups & with a stance of talks with militants. Am sure PTI will ally with religious groups like JuD, SSP soon.
@Colonel, how much do you want Imran Khan to condemn? His views are crystal clear regarding drone attacks but that doesn't mean he should get on camera every time to let you know he condemns the drone attacks.
@Colonel: As per Asghar Khan petition, the same voices of nation (JI leaders) were bribed by our very own Establishment against PPP. The same voice of nation (Sunni Difai Council) accepted funds from US.
@Tehreek-e-Insaf FATA: After the NATO attack i never heard if Imran khan has condemned the drone attacks
Pakistanis were hoping you would at least be saying something about: 1. Crimes against Women 2. Persecution of Minorities 3. Abuse of Children 4. Religious Hypocrisy
@Colonel: It was none other than PTI who blocked the NATO Supplies 3 times last year for Several Days by staging Sit-ins at Supply Routes in PESHAWAR, KARACHI, QUETTA. The RELIGIOUS PARTIES may have realized this today but PTI has been saying from Day-One, "NO to NATO Supplies and Drone Attacks".
Good, at least there is someone taking a stand.
Where is PTI, MQM, PML N, PPP, ANP's stance over this issue? Only Religious parties DCP, ST, and JI are becoming voice of nation, thats very sad
