DAVOS: The World Health Organisation on Saturday assured Pakistan of its full support in eradicating polio, hepatitis, and dengue fever from the country. The assurance came from Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) who called on Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in the Swiss city of Davos. The prime minister termed dengue as a serious threat for the people of Pakistan and mentioned the large number of deaths caused by it. He urged Chan to consider the possibility of establishing a WHO dengue collaborative centre at the National Institute of Health in Islamabad.
