TAXILA:

Two drug pushers and a gang of female swindlers were arrested on Friday, Taxila police said. The police also seized drugs and recovered looted valuables from their possession.

The police arrested Naeem Shah and Motti Ram during checking of public transport vehicles on GT Road in Taxila and seized 2kg of hashish from Naeem and 1.5kg of heroin from Ram, said DSP Raja Taifour Akhter.

Meanwhile, the same police arrested a three-member gang of female swindlers, Perveen, Nasreen and Noreen. The swindlers used to enter houses on the pretext of drinking water at a time when men were not at home, police said.

They would then take out daggers and take away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the women in the house.

The police recovered looted items and copper wire from them and registered a case.
