Kite flying: Govt summoned in plea against ban

Petition challenging a ban on kite flying and businesses involving manufacture and sale of related equipment.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday sought replies from the provincial and the city district governments on March 6 in a petition challenging a ban on kite flying and businesses involving manufacture and sale of related equipment. Petitioner Waqas Ahmad said the ban was in violation of fundamental rights guaranteed in the Constitution including freedom of legitimate trade, business and profession. He requested the court to issue direction for the government to lift the ban.
