Pentangular Cup: Shahzaib, Faisal hit tons as Balochistan toil

Sindh gain 323-run lead in Pentangular Cup clash.

Sindh solidified their position against Balochistan on the second day of their Pentangular Cup tie, gaining a first-innings lead of 323, according to information provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Resuming on 127 for one, Sindh ensured the visitors had a tough time in the field courtesy Shahzaib Hasan’s 119 and Faisal Iqbal’s 112 as the hosts were bowled out for 487 in response to Balochistan’s 164. Hasan hit 16 boundaries and a six while Iqbal’s innings included 15 hits to the fence and two maximums.

Fahad Iqbal was the other significant contributor with 68, while captain Mohammad Sami, who made a 53-ball 48 continued his good form in the match after taking four wickets on the opening day. Rahat Ali picked up a five-wicket haul, while Rizwan Haider finished with two.

Punjab on top against K-P

Elsewhere, Punjab were in a comfortable position against Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) ending the first day of their match on 95 for one, still 115 runs in arrears, after having bowled the hosts out for 210.

Young Raza Hasan was the star for Punjab claiming five for 80 as he received good support from Asif Raza, who picked up three wickets.

Khalid Usman starred for K-P with a 48-ball 59. Ahmed Shahzad was unbeaten on 57, having hit 13 boundaries, while Shoaib Malik was 29 not out.

For K-P, Riaz Afridi took the only Punjab wicket to fall.
