Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government alone cannot fight the war against terrorism.

Addressing a Senate session, the prime minister said that all political parties will have to get united to fight terrorism.

Responding to the Afghan president's remarks, Gilani said that US and Nato forces have failed to win the Afghan war. He said that the government will soon call an all-parties conference to form a new strategy against terrorism.

Gilani also announced a compensation of Rs500,000 each for the families of Islamabad plane crash victims.
