Balochistan violence: FIA inspector, TV artist gunned down in Quetta

The motive behind the murders could not be immediately known.

QUETTA:
Three people, including an inspector of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and a television artist, were shot dead by unidentified assailants near Mekangi Road in Quetta on Wednesday. According to police, three people were travelling by car on Mekangi road when assailants riding a motorbike opened fire on them, killing all three instantly.

The assailants managed to escape from the scene after committing the crime. A heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area.


The bodies were taken to the provincial Sandeman Hospital for autopsy, where they were identified as FIA inspector Vilayat Hussain, television artist Abid Nazish and an employee of the Balochistan accountant general’s office, Mohammad Anwar.

“The victims received bullet wounds on their upper torso that caused their immediate death,” hospital sources said. The motive behind the murders could not ascertained immediately.
