RAWALPINDI:

The special judge (central) (SJC) for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) turned down the bail plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Anjum Aqeel Khan on Tuesday.

SJC Khalid Shabir rejected the MNA’s arguments, who, through his lawyer Zafar Ali Shah, had asked for post-arrest bail on medical grounds.

To substantiate the medical grounds for bail, Dr Akhtar Ali, a cardiologist at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) appeared in court and explained the medical condition of the accused MNA.  In his statement, the doctor reportedly informed the court that Aqeel was under treatment for two blocked hear vessels.

Aqeel was arrested on December 3 last year when his pre-arrest bail was rejected by the SJC. He was accused of refusing to hand land over to the National Police Foundation under an agreement signed 10 years ago despite receiving payment for it, leading to a loss of Rs5.75 billion to the exchequer.

Rahila, there are lot of people who agree with you!!! KHUDADAD HEIGHTS, ISLAMABAD is a SCAM of huge size. Many retired people have LOST life savings to ANJUM AQEEL KHAN with no flats to LIVE IN and NO compensation. His cronies on site in E11 are his people who tell lies and more lies to investors who want the FLATS COMPLETED or THEIR MONEY BACK. Is that asking too much, MR KHAN???

This man has faied to deliver the FLATS in KHUDADAD HEIGHTS ISLAMABAD to over 600 investors who have waited nearly 10 years. He has stolen over 8 BILLION rupees in this scheme and the FIA and NAB needs to keep him and his brother SHEHZAD KHAN in jail until people are given flats or their money back plus compensation. Now that would be justice. Tehreek Insaaf or sure!!!
