ISLAMABAD: The police have obtained seven-day physical remand from the court to investigate suspected weapons smuggler Amir Ali. The antique guns were used during the First World War in 1914 and sources quoting Department of Archaeology & Museums also verified the authenticity of the weapons. The officials said that the box had been booked by a man named Feroz Khan Maila, who belongs to Darra Adamkhel, through the Islamabad-based company Ali Associates. Ali had been arrested while trying to send guns, some of which were almost a century old, to Ukraine through Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Monday. The recovered weapons included antiaircraft guns and machine guns, along with spare parts and were verified as authentic by the archaeology department.
