FAISALABAD:

A young man was shot and killed in the tehsil court near the Tandlianwala police station on Tuesday. According to police officials, Chak No598GB resident Arif Husain Watto was coming to the court to attend the hearing of a case. Akbar Ali, Akhtar, Shafqat and their accomplices allegedly chased him and opened fire on Arif as soon as he exited the court. Arif was rushed to hospital but he succumbed to injuries en route.

Arif’s brothers Aalam Sher and Sadi Ahmad were recently killed over an old rivalry. Arif’s relatives protested against the murder by placing his body in the middle of Sitiana Road and blocking traffic for several hours. On receipt of information, the Saddar senior superintendent police rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring them that strict action would be taken against the culprits in accordance with the law.
