Ijaz’s counsel, Akram Sheikh had earlier today – on the directives of the commission – written an email to his client to inform him that the commission had given assurances that he would be given full security on arrival.
Sheikh later distributed copies of Ijaz's email response to the three judges.
Appearing before the commission today, Interior Minister Rehman Malik had also said that Ijaz’s name has not been placed on the Exit Control (ECL), and added that his ministry had issued a clarification in this matter. Malik had earlier warned that the government will put Ijaz’s name on the Exit Control List, if requested by the parliamentary committee formed to probe the scandal.

Don't we have more important issues to take care of for the general masses than keeping the leaders worried about their behind by filing one petition after another. Looks like a sinister scheme to fail Pakistan in any progress.

Now recall BB. No one assured her security. In fact the Commando alluded to 'no guarantees' if she returned before the elections. Did it deter her?

What a bombastic dramma by few top notches in cooperation with Mansoor Ijaz has been played with this simple and innocent nation. Hat off to those who produced and directed it till this end. Long live PP and US friendship. Life for the middle class majority of the country has become so miserable that non has time to ponder what is happening with middle class Pakistani. Whole energy of this middle class is spent to meet the both ends. So what ever little time is left they amuse themselves with what media presents to them. All enjoy it as entertainment. Every moment effort is made by the media to create sensation but as an end result nothing comes out from the bag. OBL operation met the same fate. NRO case died down and now Memogate has been burried. This game of cat and rat evolved by elite class of Paksitan is going since many decades. Nothing is changing and even today no light is visible at the end of the tunnel. Again same lot of leaders are preparing for the election duel with new cosmetic surgeries. When this nation will wake up from this decades long sleep no one knows.
Leave the poor guy alone. Let him get back to focus on his specialty i.e. making 'creative videos'

Had Haqqani been a man of principle( but then again who is one in politics) he would not have been involved with this commedian in the first place. It's another example of lesson learned in 2nd class: If there is a lack of trust between two brothers even a monkey can spin them around each other. Show some sportmenship Dear Pak Leaders! If outsiders have the courage to make fun of Pakistan it's also because the loosers pulling the winners leg long after game is decided. We know you have your reservations but isn't that normal in all democratic countries against the opponent? What a shame!

In the prevailing condition and creating unrest, some concerned quarters guessed that Memo scandal would destroyed the incumbent government, and circumstance would become favor able and easily enter into the country ruled by him for more than about 8 or nine years but he forgot there are also people who has unique brains.
People Party and Pakistan Muslim league(N)did shake hand and created a golden chance/opportunities for remaining in power for more time in the view of forthcoming general election .
Memogate,no doubt embarrassed the government but no destroyed it effected Musharraf who was considering the condition with deep sight.
Parliament passed the resolution against him,it proved a sudden drone attack which blasted the Memogate.
This is a high profile case. In a country where Benazir was not safe and could not get justice under the govt. of her own husband, what will make Mansoor Ijaz think that he is safe. A guarantee from the commission? Oh come on!!! We should clean our house before expecting people to show up.
And how come Haqqani has lost the blackberrys ? What other official papers has he lost ? This man is a national disgrace.
Mansoor Ijaz and Hussain Haqqani, both of them are crooks. Mansoor Ijaz wrote an article after couple of months and proved himself well wisher of Pakistan. But what would have happened if American would have taken some action on the basis of this memo?
Mansoor Ijaz delivered it to American high command so he is also involved in this saga. Hussain Haqqani is answerable to Pakistani authorities because he was ambassador of Pakistan.

Existing circumstances in Pakistan has change direction of politics. As have seen now a days. a resolution has been passed by the parliament unanimously through which it has been said that in case Musharraf come to Pakistan to be arrested forthwith under the cases registered against him. It is delightful news for N league who has with similarity with their fundamental desire.
After passing the resolution,countdown has begun between N league and PPP,now both the parties are coming to the same page except some little reservations that for only people of Pakistan. Now the petition filed by the main opposition party leader has drawn his attention to the other side,memogate has lost its importance,level of enmity has also been come down to the large extent.
General election would be held as early as possible,peoples party has accepted the demand being made by PML(n)because early election are in favor of them in view of PTI getting popularity among the masses with notice able speed.
Election commission,has its reservation in regard to the holding of general election now accountability has been transfer in this regard people party has acquitted from this charge being leveled by some parties that it has become unbridgeable snag in the way of general election.
Concerned quarters in the army are silent due to which more peace has come and democracy has attained strength.
The whole scenario has created doubt in regard to the memogate inquiry so the star witness refused to come,now he and his counsel understand there would be no safety if he go to Pakistan for recording his statement before the Commission.
On the other hand,ministry of interior has refused to providing such security as being demanded by the star witness.
Some legal and constitutional experts was describing it a piece of paper which now has been proved they were on the right side.
Just received news that Mansoor has been provided yet another opportunity to appear on February 9. He had already failed to appear on three different dates of hearings. This seems to be like giving him undue benefit. It may be noted he continues to say he will not come to Pakistan.
@Nadir: I can understand your agony but since the FC soldiers were not killed in a Drone attack therefore our right wing political party would zip their mouths and shut their eyes. They were not killed in a NATO attack thus there is no use of any outrage on that front.
I will request NATO and allied forces not to use Drones to kill these innocent militants... They are our very own Pakistanis and hence they are licensed to kill as many Pakistanis as they want... Please stay away from our internal matters... Let's promote extremism, terrorism and barbarianism to the fullest.

Mansoor Ijaz refuses to visit Pakistan once again, Husain Haqqani lost his Blackberry, Nawaz Sharif in London and Asif Zardari in Myanmar ..... so what happened to the cause of national security ?
Mansoor Ejaz wanted to create choas which he did and never intented to come to Pakistan.
Mansoor Ijaz is getting the free publicity that he craves so much. Why would he go out of his way to come to Pakistan, even for the slightest possibility that his testimony wouldnt stand up to questioning. Those calling Hussain Haqqani a traitor should appreciate that atleast he came back to Pakistan and remains here. Instead of demanding that the Army should provide protection to Mansoor Ijaz so that he can say whatever he has to tarnish Zardari, we should stop turning a blind eye to what has been 2 very brutal weeks where the TTP have summarily executed many jawans! What is the Army doing about that? Why no outrage? Instead everyone is fixated with Mansoor Ijaz who isnt even a Pakistani!
